I've had a nextel phone forever...i keep breaking them dont ask. Anyway, i need to get a new phone....gotta stick with nextel or sprint unless u guys know a "creative" way of getting out of a contract without fronting the billamnit:

Im looking at the sprint phones....Samsung A900 and MM-A940.

lol, ive had nextel for ever too and break phones ALL the time. If i get pissed about anything while on the phone i always throw it lol. I usually just buy whatever nextel i can find on ebay for under 30 bucks.. But i bought one of the black boost mobile phones last week. Its the i730. It was 80 shipped on ebay and works great, looks good too.

I had nextel and hated it. The service sucked and the phones are all huge unless you get the really expensive ones. I lost the flip phone that was $40 with my plan and had to pay $300 for a new one. The day the contract ran out I switched to Cingular and haven't looked back. Better and smaller phone, cheaper prices, 100x better service.

nextel has the direct connect. Until another company can duplicate it, ill always own a nextel. I use it for work.. all my friends have it, so its a must have for me.

Nextel service has been fine with me. IMO, with all these companies, you can take a survey and find a complaint about service from everyone. Its about where u live and which company has the best coverage for that area.

I also like the direct connect...but i dont use it as much as i used to. But im afraid if i get rid of it...lol..i will regret it

Heres a secret.....Go to your nextel dealer and tell them you're moving to a location were they don't cover.....Soooo I do I get service???? They pretty much have no choice but to drop you, so just find out were exactly (zip) they don't have service. I had a friend who worked for cingular and he shared that little secrect with me. He also made a very very bad copy of my CC so if I ever want to skip the bill and go else were they can't read it (only if I get screwed over will I do that).

Make sure you give them a zip code that way they can check it out. Makes them feel better that they can check it and they won't smell the if they ask for a zip. Hell check the white pages online and give them a direct adresss from there.

Hmmm...this is very interesting. They make their money off of the contracts, so i know they wont give it up without a fight. We will see....

But then it opens a whole nother can or worms....which company lol. I guess i should just find the phone i like most and go from there????

What's for them to fight?? You're moving to a location were they don't provide service nothing they can do but let you off.....If you want call your customer service and do it through them. That way if they find a way to keep you just hang up while you're talking like you were disconected .

After dealing with nextel and all my broken phones, they try to pull every trick out of their hats before giving in.....maybe im just over thinking it. The only thing i can think of giving me a problem is a proof of new residency

I had some service, but only in certain high areas. Once I got anywhere near hills (luckily WV is such a flat place....um or not) it would go in and out. I just lived with sh**** service for a year then got a plan with cingular. Couldn't get out of the nextel deal before then cuz I had signed a 1 year contract.
