I have QA1, with tubular A-Arms, all bolted in with no problems!!
One question I have though. Are your front wheels flush with the fenders when you look at it from the front. I had mine in 2 cars and it wants to be offset to the drivers side, but according to the plumbbob points , its square. Im wondering if I got a bad k member.
It's offset because of where Ford initiates their tolerance stack up. The tolerance starts at the front drivers side wheel and all excess is pushed/pulled to/from the passenger side. Some factory k-members are better than others…but in the case of aftermarket k-members it's a bit different. Because they are able to hold tighter tolerances, the factory tolerance can be compounded so that it's quite often noticeable. Adding wider front tires with different offsets makes it even more noticeable.
I have the 98 cobra wheels and with it square, its about 1-1.5 inches out on the drivers side. I think it would turn better to the right but it just looks funny. I called Granatelli and they would be willing to help me out but what if ai get another k member and its the same way.
Chances are it's not the drivers side that's sticking out…but the passenger side that's sucked in. Either way though I'd still take them up on their offer on the off-chance that it is indeed the k-member.
All the k-member brands move the front wheels forward except PA Racing.
I have a Pa Racing k-member on order now, Once I get it in I will let you guys know about the quality.
To fix the current problem with the wheels to far forward you need to buy a set of adjustable arms with the rod ends. That way all you have to do is position the spacer to get the arm moved back. Kind of like adjusting a bumpsteer kit up or down.
