Even though no one answered my post, 5 stangnetters came to swell the membership of the Ford Drag Team. Of the 11 cars competing, 7 made it into the second round and one car won 5 rounds to qualify for the finals. Well done! I hope you guys enjoyed the racing and that you made as many passes as you wanted.

Do you agree that Car Club racing gets you more racing with the added incentive of racing for a team?

The next Car Club race is on a Wednesday, July 6th at Pacific Raceway.

:nice:

The CCC event was a lot of fun. I won my first round and redlighted -.010 on my second getting really aggressive with the last yellow. Was a bummer, it was against that Silverado with flames. I'm not sure if the red light screwed me up but it was the first 2.0 60' and my time was too slow compared to my dial in to win anyway.

I'd like to come out next event and hopefully get a few passes in for the Ford Drag team. It was fun meeting some new faces and being on a team.

It was nice getting a few extra passes as well, I realized I had a few thing left undone to my car including stock timing (My handheld tuner isn't working, can't get to advancing the timing) and the spare tire was in during the events. So as far as time goes, if I can drop my 60' a little more there is still a bit left but I was very happy with a new best time and knowing there is still a bit more to go.

Friday night did not have great weather for personal bests. You probably have better performance in your future.

What time is the july 6th race?

Gates officially open at 5PM and racing starts as quickly as they can prep the track. They often open the gates early on Wednesday. They give at least 2 passes for CCC. If crowds are light, they'll give 3 passes. Then competition will start. It's more fun because you are NOT dealing with a bunch of bracket racing experts who have used the same car for 20 years running .005 off their dial-in every time -although there are a couple guys who fit in that catgegory. CCC cars must be street legal with full exhaust etc. There are many people using manual transmissions.

Ya its been awhile since I raced CCC. But had alot of fun when i did. Actually back then I was working at Mikes Mustang and we had our own team. But I guess they dont have team names anymore. They do it by a letter designation correct?

Anyway the reason I asked was I work in Marysville (well over an hour away at that time of day from the track) and I dont get off work till 5:00. Sounds like if I am going to go I might want to get off a couple hours early. Thanks for the info.

If you arrive at 6, you'd probably miss one CCC pass to establish a dial in. You can weigh the pluses and minuses on that issue. Mike Lattin arrived really late last week and made it to the finals (5 wins!!) ! He boiled the tires on the starting line and ran a 12.4 on an 11.95 dial in during the finals. Still, it was a great night for him and the club!

That car is freakin crazy isnt it? I will have to give Mike a call and make sure he is going on that day. Havent seen that guy in awhile.
Im still trying to figure out if I will be able to go and such still. Hopefully it works out.

I really like that car too. Our club has the fastest cars, no doubt about that. We had several Cobras there last week and they were running high 11's or low 12's.
