Yep...another sign of the continued downfall of America. No absolute right/wrong anymore, everyone has an excuse. I am truly sorry for your damage. I worry about having nice cars for the same reason...and have a '99 Dodge minivan w/ 138k mi on it for runs to walmart!

One thought...as long as people are already mad at me about my engine swap thread. There is one thing that comes out of these events: I think that it helps us hold on to our possessions a little bit less tightly. The first ding in a new car is tough...but maybe it's good when we stop worshipping the car and simply enjoy it. Still, that sort of mindless and meaningless attack on your property is very painful.

yeah, i understand what you are saying, it took some time, but i am able to step back and say, "its just a car" i mean, everyone is in good health and no one is hurt..so i guess thats what i have to look at instead of the pain and money i will have to put back into it....

killerkittycat: so the security guard stole the snakes..how come they didnt say anything or tell him to get away when the guy was looking at the car??? but at least u can just buy some snakes and put them back on and he didnt write "f" you with a key on the side of the car

Or at least sterilize them so they can't reproduce the same kind of low life that they are.

Setup a sting, park a bunch of nice cars together in a dark lot and wait for the scumbags. Then all you need to do is 'confront' them while in the act. They threw the first punch right, sounds like that trip to the ER and them eating a liquid diet for 3 months would be appropriate resitution, it WAS self defense right?

Concealed
Carry
Weapon

Not a bad thing to have before confronting some thugs in a dark parking lot...just in case they escalate beyond fists.

yeah, i know what you are saying, but 1. my parents would KILL me if they found out i had a gun or giant knife i carried around with me lol 2. i live in a fraternity house and one of our guys is registered as a lethal weapon, all i have to do is tell him to go out there and the situation would be under control

Look on the brightside, you still have your car! Car Clubber of mine had his stolen while in college. 65 fastback pristine condition. He went to his girlfriend's apartment to pick her up for a date, was inside for about an hour and when he came back he couldnt find his car. Apparently the theifs had followed him to the apartment and stole it within minutes of him going inside. By the time he reported it missing the police had already found it. Totaled! The theifs thought it was cool to center punch about 50 mailboxes, until they hit one that was actually a brick pillar. Damage included a destroyed front clip, windshield, roof and paint damage from the mailboxes sliding over and off of the deck lid. Although, keying sucks, I would be happy considering what could have happened.

My 2 cents.

Man that really stinks.
My driver got broken into when I was in college, they stole the stereo that I'd only put in about a month before, but worst of all, they stole my toolbox out of the back full of all the tools I'd put together for years.

Then several years later I had built a custom sub box / amp shelf that fit under the jump seats of my supercab ranger... somebody stole that too.

Rat bastards.

This all makes me think shooting my car black primer is the best solution!

Sorry to hear of it man, I wish you the best on the repair.

that really sucks bad....yeah, atleast i still have my car..it could have been worse and gotten stolen or broken into and had my shift light, tach and all the other goodies stolen...so i kind of got lucky on that part, but the key dammage is still gonna hit me right in the wallet...it makes me want to learn to paint so i could do it cheap and not have to fight with the insurance company..because insurance companies suck and are rip-offs
