Decided to paint my black 02's grill 'corral' today. Simple to do, but I followed (and was inspired by) the directions at www.mustangworld.com. Here is the link--> Painting the Chrome Pony Corral Black
Below are the pics...before and after.

I did the same a soon as brought my stang home from the dealership.(inspirered by the "BULLITT").Personally i think it looks better blackedout. But mine kept getting chipped  .Even sanded it well, and prepped it well. :( ..So i decided to do the Mach One delete kit without running horse. :)

Thanks guys - I'll get some pics tomorrow outside, from a distance.
I figured I couldn't really mess this up too badly, and if I did, I am planning, sooner or later, to get the grill delete anyway. But this is cool for the time being...
I used dupli-color universal black, since I already had it. And I didn't prime or sand at all, just degreased and scrubbed with a brush.
One other note, I had to take the grill out because there are two posts on the corral that go through to the back side. I couldn't figure out why it wouldn't just pop off. I'm glad I removed the whole grill. On the two posts are two metal clips that you have to remove and it's much easier with the grill completely out. They take a little bit of motivation with needle nose pliers. But the whole thing was no big deal. The bumper cover is very flexible, and that helps when removing the four 7mm screws on the bottom. (a small socket wrench is highly recommended)
