Grill Delete Install Question

The directions tell me, you may have to remove headlight to get to the four 7mm bolts on the bottom of the factory grill, well I did this and I still cannot reach the four 7mm bolts. Any suggestions I am ready to start hacking away on the factory grill. When I ordered this kit they told me "easy install" MY ASS

I pulled my bumper towards me some, so I could fit the socket under there. Don't pull too far, as you may warp the bumper, but it's pretty flexible. I can search for my installation instructions if you need me to.

i hacked the hell outta my old girll ...ripped the bolts out....out of all my mods..that was the hardest install...H-pipe was easier...lol

im with him, if i had more gull, i would've taken the whole damn front bumper off... it would definately be easier as a matter of fact, i only used the two top screws to hold the thing down, didnt even bother with 4 bottom ones.... i know thats gonna cost me if air (wind) ever gets under there... ****... im gonna take my own advice and fix it now, bah.

All you need to do is bend the bumper cover up so you can access the bolts. I did this without removing the headlights, using a socket on screw-driver-type handle. It's a pain, but it is definitely more do-able than is being written about here. By removing the headlights it just make it easier to pull up on the bumper cover ... easier, but definitely not required. When you pull up on the bumper cover to get at the bolts, without removing the headlights the cover will get bent up at least 45 degrees -- don't worry, it will go back to its original shape.

That's what I did, took out the headlights, and bend the cover. It went back to normal.

Just pull the bumper, it makes it a lot easier that way. Plus it also helps if you do the chin spoiler at the same time!!

I did mine with no instructions (only bare OEM Mach 1 parts from my ford dealership) and it only took me 20 minutes... that also includes the time it took to figure out how the stock one was attatched. Easiest install I ever did... well, second to AM taillights on a friends focus.

Heaven forbid you try a Mach 1 chin spoiler.

I've got a 2004 GT Vert. I just bent the bumper back and used an open ended wrench instead of a socket. A pain, but not that bad. Once you get them started you can use your fingers. Removing the headlights would be overkill to me - unless it's really easy.

Extremely easy... pull 2 tabs on the back of the headlight, and it slides right out.

I did the same. May not be a good idea though if it is cold outside where you are. Good luck
