I was driving home on the freeway and my clutch pedal just got extremely loose all of a sudden, so i just readjusted my FWA because it looked like the position of it change a little, anyway i go to start my car back up and it makes this crazy grinding noise then stops as soon as i let off the clutch pedal. What the mess is happening here, what did i do:shrug: I just installed the new clutch kit, tob, and flywheel about 3 weeks ago, its a RAM HD from summit. It hasnt giving me any problems til now!! please help :0 thanks

if it's a T5 with an aluminum input shaft bearing retainer, you better plan on replacing the retainer also. If it's steel, you might be ok. If it is aluminum and it has any kind of a groove in it from the seized throw out bearing........REPLACE IT.......trust me, I just went through the same thing last weekend.

I had a tob go out in about a month... twice! The best one that I found were the PLASTIC ones from Advanced Auto parts! Crazy, I know... But never gave me a problem. Mine would actually turn into a oval (the metal TOB's) and seize up real bad. Basically, the bearing is no longer working... it's no longer spinning... so it's makin' all that racket on the retainer and possibly the pressure plate.

Plastic ones work ...huh go figure ...It could be one of 3 things...you may have installed the TOB backwards which would suck or its just defective...or the bearing retainer on the trans is broke...especially if its the stock aluminum one I have snapped off 3 or 4 and yes I have installed the TOB backwards but I caught it right as I was lifting the trans up to slide it in it is possible especially if your in a rush to get it up and going again hope that helped ya.
