Parts delays, race schedules, a PCS move from Cali to Knox and then to Bragg/Liberty... But we're finally getting close, and I have every reason to believe that this car will be on display at this year's Foxtoberfest. The parts (pistons) are here, the shortblock is painted & together:

It's Michael Bell's car lift. He's doing the motor.

It worked out to 9.72:1. This is contrary to my philosophy of going for low compression and higher boost on octane limited fuel vs. higher (mild really) compression and lower boost when seeking to maximize power.

However, I'm really not interested in maximum power anymore. A stiff-ish car on Maximum Motorsports suspension is not going to dead hook 1k rwhp under any conditions. So, I suspect that optimal traction in street driving will happen in the lower end of the 600-700 rwhp range. Based on beer math, I suspect that it'll make 600 by 10.5 psi or less. So long as that's achievable, higher compression with lower boost mean a faster spool and torquier mid-range which is preferable.

Michael knows what he's doing though, wanted a flat 10:1, which he knew I would not be comfy with. He says my way of thinking is old-school and that it'll make power just fine at this compression. I designed my other turbo car, a 331, at 8.5:1 and made 72x rwhp on pure pump gas, which I thought was pretty solid. So, I'll be interested to see how this one does on pump.

On the fuel system - seems like a lot of unnecessary hose. Why not just dead head the front of the rails and have the regulator feed from the back? I can't see how the front of the rails would ever have a starvation issue, and if you did, it would be not enough pump or bad reg. Just curious.

Honestly, I haven't given it any thought. It works and looks cool. Car ran out of pump on E85 at 954 to the tire. I guess if you get into the nitty gritty, you have to do the math on what the rails and lines will support and whether it would cause a pressure inconsistency across the injectors if you ran as described. I don't know that data, and will happily not fix what ain't broke.
