i dont have any headers designed for the p heads yet but i bolted my set of hooker super comp shorties to the p heads and they fit ,the only thing is they hit the plug wire boots on a couple of them. so i dont know what im gunna do yet, i might just run the hookers untill i get money to buy some made for P heads.

the person didnt know what they were doin when they installed the cam, if they were smart they should of atleast ported the stock heads and intakes to go with the cam i think.

by the way this is fastfordguy that started the thread, just remembered my old name from a couple years ago so im using this id now.

I used tfs springs in mine, but stock pushrods for now. I'm also running 1.7 roller rockers. Just don't use 1.7 roller rockers with a cam, go with 1.6's.

Michael, from all the research i've done, the early speed density cams (I put an 86 HO in mine) are decent cams. While not nearly as good as say a tfs stage one, everyone who's run an explorer/cobra combo says that the stock ho cam is very well suited to those heads and intake. I chose to stick with my 86 ho cam in my 97 explorer motor for that reason.

the proof will come soon enough, as I'll dyno test it, then compare #'s with my bro who is assembling his 96 explorer engine with the tfs 1 cam.

If my HO cam is killing me enough, then I'll pull it soon enough, but I suspect it's not going to hurt too much, I hope.
