hey guys, i'm getting an engine from a 94/95 gt low miles with gt-40 or 40p head, i'll know on saturday. i'm only paying 500 for it, i have this program that u can input the head specs and stuff and gives you an estimated HP/TQ graph, I was wondering if anybody had any specs on flow and intakes...
thanks for any info.
I'll be using an F cam, and we are going to have the springs tested, any recomendation for that?
thanks again
javier

Yes, the P is slightly better with smaller 58cc chambers, relocated spark plug and a better flowing exhaust port. But they do require a P specific header, or BBK or MAC LT's to clear the different plug angle.

Don't bother testing the springs, even new they're too weak for the F cam. Trick Flow makes a nice direct fit spring kit for $120 or so from Summit. Personally, I'd consider the TFS Stage 1 cam over the F cam as well.

You can expect anywhere from 260-300 RWHP 300-330 RWTQ, depending on the shape of the engine, cam specs, and whether the heads are worked or not.

My 170K, oil burning, carbed- P headed 302 made 283/308 at the wheels...

well the F cam is free, so i figured i start with that, 300hp/300+tq to the wheels is plenty for now, i hope the heads are not P, i don't want to look for an exhaust, i want the car on the road !!!, i can't wait anymore.
btw, how big was the carb? 750?
doi need rocker arms too? or push rods?
thanks again
javier

I have a 670 Street Avenger on a Performer RPM. I had to use longer pushrods, but that was more the cam than anything. Both the GT40 and the P head are set-up for stock pedestal mount rockers.
