i just installed a gt40 manifold upper and lower with a 75mm TB. everything is good, idle is perfect, but i hear whistling. i checked all the vacuum hoses and gaskets.. the ones that need to be connected are all connected. the ones that arent are sealed perfectly. i even put silicon sealant on the threads. theres no way air is getting in. i sprayed carb choke cleaner around and no bogging or bubbles. still once the engine warms up, the manifold whistles loudly on idle. the manifold was ported out alot from the previous owner. could it be just that since the manifold is aluminum the porting made it whistle? i dont know. has anyone had a similar problem??

IMO, you dont need a bigger tb until you do a h/c/i or a power adder. you might have a minimal gain but its not worth it to me. i would get something else before that on a basicly stock motor.
If I did a H/C/I I wouldnt bother with a 65mm!! It does make a difference on a stock motor.Do all the little mods and in the end it adds up!!

umm this might be a stupid suggestion. but I know with my bbk TB it kinda squeals when i press the throttle. If its doing it all the time, the opening in the intake might not be big enough as suggested, creating turbulence on the backside of the throttle blade, and making it squeal a little too.

bbk TB = teh lose

if you want better performance right now and less noise id suggest a 65mm accufab or maybe a 70mm

i dunno how that would do with your intake ported out to 75mm though

just another ?.... what is the stock intake plenum on a gt-40 intake? its already 70 mm is it not?

Depending on how loud the whistle, it might be normal, my gt-40 makes a little noise, but nothing that noticable, but if the hood is open, I hear a little whistle, if you are going to mod in the future, I would just keep the 75t/b for now, of you could put the stock one back on until you get more mods, but I would just leave it.

Did you have that throttle body on before the manifold swap? If not, it's probably the throttle body that's the noise maker, not the intake. Many complain of whistling and noise with just about all aftermarket throttle bodies except Ford Racing or Accufab.
