so i bought the whole gt40 set up a few weeks back to put on the 91, theyre in great shape and should work perfectly i just wasnt happy with the looks and i figure if im gonna take the time to put it all on it might as well look good, so this weekend i decided to redo the intake, and these are the results, let me know what you think.

BEFORE

Paint Stripper is good stuff

After Stripping

Primer

Lower intake required a lot of degreaser

more priming

1000% improvement. I also used heat-resistant aluminium paint on my Edelbrock:

Definitely worth the effort.

I just got a gt40 intake for free today

Ima take it to my buddys and get it all cleaned up in his solvent tank then go and find out what color I want to use, do you just use masking take to cover all the stuff you don't want painted?

Lookin' Good!

I did mine last year. If you haven't put it together yet you may want to grind that bracket mount off of the side of the upper. It meakes it look much cleaner. I also ground the seams off of mine too. This picture is kinda crappy (1.3 mega pixel) but it gives you an idea.

Personally, I prefer to powdercoat intakes. Easier to clean, tougher to kill the finish. And it's relatively cheap.

To id89gt:
Yes just use masking tape and a razorblade, it works just as well as painters tape
