GT-40P'S VS ANY OTHERS

ok my ? is wit a set of bare Ps and getting all new springs and bigger valves and everything and to port the heads good....can these heads out perform other big companies outta the box...and would it be cheaper if i was to go this route.. and also wut kinda times could i expect if i was to go the P route..

Results will depend a great deal on the skill of the head porter. Your gonna pay for that. The P heads are a great street head as-is as they have very strong low-mid lift flow. Just get them milled to give your about 9.5 compression and put good valve train stuff in them.

P heads rock my best time is in my sig. they are box stock with better springs. my friend has a few better parts then i do including ported trickflow heads and he runs the same times i do. its funny because my combo is so basic with nothing special.

ok nice times man...so how much did u pay for them and where did u get them from also........and what could i do to the heads to get them closer to a 11sec run...considering my car ran that same times as u.....

go to jeff chambers web page. he can do anything to the heads for you. i think they start at around 475 i think. when i get mine ported someday i'm sure i could run 11s. now i don't want to put in a roll bar so i am looking for 12.0s. going to get a dyno tune and chip, skinnies, remove extra weight, and a aluminum driveshaft. go to stangpro.com also and do some reading on the heads. that's what i did.

Just a heads up on the GT40P's. I bought mine on E-Bay. Brand spankin' new with valves & springs, and they've never been bolted on a motor for $467 shipped to my door. Here's a link:

You may wanna give him a call if you're looking to get a stock set for now,then move on to get them ported later on. That's my situation at the moment.
