GT-500 14" brakes on a Fox w/Sn95 spindles

Those would be awesome brakes to have though.

I've been debating just doing the Focus RS Brembos on the Cobra 13" brakes. Unsure if 14" would be THAT much difference really but it prob would be.

I need to finish gathering parts to convert my Fox to ABS first though. Having been autoXing my GT, i've come to see the difference between Mustangs with ABS and without ABS on the autoX course and convinced myself it would be worth adding it to my Fox if i plan on AutoXing with it

I can't see changing from my 13" Cobra brakes. It would be cool to have 14" rotors, but not for the cash it would cost me to change things. Besides, how much difference would they make? For someone who is going to upgrade their brakes from stock though, it is something to consider for sure.

There would eventually come a point where the speed that your car is capable of doesn't justify either the cost or the extra rotating mass of the brakes and 18s. I would think that even for all but the most extreme open track cars a 13'' rotor with good pads is plenty unless the car weighs 4000lbs. Of course, if you've done a lot of weight reduction to your car, that extra rotating mass isn't a big deal. Then again who knows, the new ZR1 Vette has 15'' rotors so what do i know.

I think with our cars being light compared to the new stuff...a 13" brake setup is cheap and really all you need. If you need more, do a Brembo 4-piston on the 13" rotor.

14" brakes are cool for the bling bling value, and I would love a set, but realistically it would be easier and cheaper for me to buy a pair of Focus RS calipers and call it a day

Just finished that article in 5.0 last night. pretty cool. I thought the rim/tire backspacing gauge was really cool.

Anyway, those are some MAMMOTH brakes. That'd be nice, but I can't see justyfying all kinds of mods like that when you can do the 13" Cobra brakes for cheaper and by just bolting stuff on. Interesting Idea on the adapter bracket. Easier than modding the hell out of the spindle like the magazine article.

Where's my 13" REAR brakes is what I want to know. I'm just running dinky GT discs out back and they look small in my 17" wheels.

Baer already has a 13" rear brake kit....13.25" to be exact. It comes with an adapter that bolts onto the GT rear axle bracket and uses the stock caliper. You just slip the rotor on and instant 13" rear disk.

Downside is that it's not vented. it's 1/2" thick and solid like the GT rear brakes are. I think the vented 11.65" cobra brakes offer more cooling
