GT Replacement Grill

I have an 05 GT. I thought that after a while the Fog lights would grow on me. Well I have had the car three months now, and they are not even close to growing on me! I love every angle of the new GT's except for the front. I know that some love the fogs, so in preparation I put my flame suit on before posting.

Is there an aftermarket grill out there that looks like the V6 grill, for our cars? I really do not like the V6 bumer, so doing the V6 swap is out of the question. I do not care for the billet replacement/overlays either. I would even do a mesh grill as long as it was black. However I do prefer the OEM material.

So what are my options? So far all I have come up with is removing the fogs from the stock grill, and wait. That, or get the foglight covers.

What to do...

I don't think anything is stopping you from just getting an OEM V6 grill? It should bolt in just like the GT grill just without the fogs. You could tuck the connectors back somewhere.

I don't think the grills are the same size.
The grill used in the Shelby GT should do the trick. I believe CDC offers it or something close.

I feel the same way about my fogs. My driver side burned out over the winter and I have never replaced it, so I never turn them on anyhow. I do however like the black/powder coated billet grills(which I will break down and get one of these days). I don't see why a V6 grill wouldn't fit the GT bumper. I have read that the V6 bumper has to be modified to accept the GT grill(I'm not sure what though). I also like the OEM material. That is the reason behind me painting mine(thanks Anthony05) to help improve the looks.

I'm in the same camp, I was never overly fond of the grille and fogs. I got the CDC black billet grille and I'm quite happy with it.

Did you get it with the optional pony emblem or not? Any pics? that is the one I'm looking at...without the pony emblem

Well for completeness in this thread is is a cross posted image of the grille. As per your comments in the other thread about seeing what's behind, it's rarely a problem unless you're really crouched down taking a shot straight on. I never notice it otherwise.

For those who may be interested in swapping out their OEM GT grills w/fogs ? I just spoke with my local Ford dealer's body shop manager, who confirms that the V6 pony package grill will fit on the Mustang GT..However, he also confirmed that the GT grill, will not fit on the Mustang V6, due to the difference in bumper size and style..Anyhow, just thought I'd share this info with you..

Most of them are the OEM style honeycomb with the original placement or center mounted fogs. I have not seen any billet grills with fogs...yet.

I've seen one on my internet travels that is a high flow with a recess like the old 70's Mustangs but can't find it but it is out there.

Just wait for the Bullitt Mustang to come out and get the grille from that car. It will be just like the GT, but without the fogs and pony possibly (unless they change their mind again).

So that would/could mean it would cost more $$$$ being from a limited edition model...

Yes, I was thinking about getting the Bullitt grill, when it comes out. I am just getting tired of waiting! That and the aftermarket could probably make one with better quality and lower price.

Speaking of the 08' Bullitt... Where are all the pictures? If it is/was planning on being released in 08 wouldn't Ford have done some marketing on/for it? And being a 08' model wouldn't it be released sometime this year? Unless, they aren't going to release it until mid 08'? My 2 cents is that it is either being pushed back...or they are scraping it all together.

I don't know about the better quality part, but lower price probably. There is a lot of junk being produced these days.

I've seen nothing on the grill on car. Highland green, which we assume the car will be painted, is listed as a Mustang color for 2008. I have seen absolutely nothing else on an official site.
