If you are dead set on using the Saleen front bumper cover, then you should stick with the LX trim. All of the Saleen stuff was designed to match up to the LX trim, it will not match up to the GT! However, I am not a fan of the Saleen nose without the rest of the body kit. Go with the whole thing; nose, side skirts, and rear valance, throw in the wing for good measure, go FTW! Or keep it a plain-jane bland looking LX. (I know I am in the minority with that opinion! lol)

T-Tops rule!

I had them installed in my 79 Capri way back in 1981! And I have loved every moment of them since then. One of the best things I did to the car.

I'd stay with the LX trim.

Oh man decisions decisions. I cant make up my mind. I like the clean line of the lx, but i hate the missing tailpipes on an lx, i will be running dumps, cuz i cant find an exhaust setup that i like with tailpipes, I want to hear the cam pounding away and dumps really gives that you . I dunno , what to do. I love the way gts look with t tops tho, i havent seen an lx with t's so its hard to make up my mind.

go with the gt ground effects with a cobra rear bumber and either an lx wing or cobra wing .i hate the gt hatch wing be different don't be like the rest .i think the lx is naked without something like ground effects and you could always go the saleen route.

yeah im leaning towards gt sideskirts with a saleen front bumper and prolly a gt rear

You more or less cant do this.. the Saleen front mounts to an LX front bumper, and the molding wont match the GT stuff, that and the Saleen Splitter is only as low as an LX, doesn't hang as low as a GT...

As for i don't usually like gt's, i'd say the t top looks better that way.
Use a cobra set up in the rear and the sides, then may a cervini stalker in the front.

yeah i was also thinking about the stalker, that idea has def. come across my mind a few times. I got time to think about it, The only thing i like about the gt back bumper is that you can run dumps and not look like your missing something. with a lx or cobra the lack of 3 inch chrome tails looks awkward

That is completely untrue, in fact the opposite, 3 inch tail pipes look too big.
Nicely mainted stock lx exhaust or nice aftermarket 2.5 inch is the way to go.
Dumps are gay on anything other than a race car.

See I dont agree 2000xp8 at all. Stock tails look ok, but the size is terrible. 2.5" does a better job, but still not perfect. A 3" tail looks best, and I also don't like the way the tail pipe comes down from above and behind the wheel. I like the way an 03 Cobra tailpipe sits from the side and the back. The 3" Flowmaster tails are darn near perfect, other than the fact they are only polished stainless to a point and you can see the transition in plain site. Had they carried that past your POV they would look perfect. Either way I am running dumps until I get the mufflers and throw the 3" Tails I have on.

The fact that the transition in pipe sizing and pipe material can be seen on an lx ruins 3 inch pipes for me. Totally takes away from the clean look, when pipe changes and can be seen.
I have a saleen kit, so i really can't see anything going over the axle.
Besides i think 3in looks disproportianate to the size of the car, the fox body is a relatively small car compared to the new ones.

Well the exhaust size doesn't change it is 3" all the way to the mufflers, but there is a weld that is visible that hurts the look some. If it were all polished Stainless until it went over the axle they would look perfect in my eyes. I just think 2.5" is too small, 3" is just right.

agreed, im not talking about having 2.5 pipe with 3 inch tips, The only way i would do it would be 3 inch all they way back, so i def. agree with 25th on this one.

um, what exacty do you guys need a 3 inch catback exhaust for?
Alot of cars have issues with 2.5 catbacks hitting the tank, upper controls, frame rails, i can only imagine what a 3 inch does. Which is what is on my explorer, and the pipe is huge.

On my car I did it for looks, and clearance actually. The 2.5" all run between the wheels and the tank, and running a 285 tires on a 10" rim doesn't leave much room in there. The 3" set up runs under the edge of the tank down away from the tire. There is less room as it goes over the axle but more behind the car. I also don't run a 3" Catback yet, its 2.5" mufflers into 3" tails, but I will be getting 3" Bassani mufflers one day.
