so i have a 1989 gt with the origanal tail lights on it. i want to replace them with the lx tail lights. but i dont exactly no what all i would need to get or do. if any one could tell my what all i need to buy and how i would swap em i would much apreacaite it thank you.
You need to take out the rear plastic panels to access the lights as if you were to change a bulb, then its just a matter of a couple of nuts on the back of each light assembly to remove and install LX one. It should be quick and easy replacement. Bulb housings should fit.

Where is a good place to happen on some of these? I'm actually looking to do an 86 swap on my 88 and I'm leaning towards used housings and new lenses to keep things fresh looking.

I just bought the lens covers and a new weatherstripping kit from 50resto. Yanked the old one off and put the new ones in its place with the stripping and clips.
