GT40,Explorer,Cobra Intakes 101

i want to understand if explorer itnakes are a direct bolot on. i find some listed on ebay saying they have the egr provisions.... but i researched and i htought no explorer intake shave the egr already in it???? is the egr the oly thing to worry. isnt there a act or something....... i need to buy an corna intake and i found one on ebay perfect for me and its an exploder but they giy says it has egr ready...

the models up to mid 97 i believe have egr and the ones newer than that dont.

so if i get a pre 97 intake all i have to do i tap out the boss... and im good?
so basically i shouldnt even mess with the 97 and above stuff...

Right, unless you want to get rid of your EGR and relocate your ACT sensor.

My Explorer intake was already drilled and tapped for the ACT, and I don't know who did it, because I got it from ebay, so maybe some already had the provisions for an ACT sensor (?) I don't know, but the pre-97 intakes are your best bet.

ok so 'the pre 97 have a boss for act and the egr.....thats great!!
but will having a boss for the egr guarentee a boss for the ACT???
and is a boss" pretty much a platform/flat surface to drill on, or is like a pre dented hole??
