Gt40 Intake

so I am looking at purchasing a gt40 upper and lower, he also has a 65mm explorer throttle body and 24 lbs injector. My question is do I need the larger injectors for this intake or will stock be fine? The car is a 89 Lx bone stock.

The Explorer tb will need to be modded to work on a fox, maybe it's done already. The 24lbers will need a new maf unit calibrated to them.

The guy did say it was modded for a mustang already. Good to know about the injectors. Ill save those for later on. The stock ones should be fine for just the intake upgrade though eh?

The 10hp you might get off just the intake isn't worth the time. If you are getting a good deal jump on it and then wait until you can pair it with a better set of heads.

Yea I figured as much, but it is a pretty good deal so I figured I'd get them now and later do the heads and a cam

You could just hit the jy and find an explorer to pull the top end off of. Get heads intake and tb all at once.

Yea that was the original plan but I found these on kijiji for a smoking deal and he has blasted and painted everything. What years explorer are the best to get the heads off of? And is the cam worth getting as well?

Yea electric fan and 3G alternator are on the list as well for the junkyard. Just have to research what to swipe them off of.

Disc brakes and better suspension is going to be this winters main focus though
