Anyone out there running the stock cam with GT40P's? I'm in the middle of rebuilding right now and was curious if the stock cam does well with these heads? My GT40P's have dual trickflow springs and Proform 1.6 rr's. I'd love to get a B303 or another cam but was just curious what you guys thought about keeping the stock cam....

honestly, in terms of stock parts the HO cam isnt terrible. i know a few guys who've broken into the 11's with the stock cam. while you'll obviously see gains from an aftermarket cam, it isnt going to hurt anything to run the stock one for now.

11's with a stock cam and 900 pounds of nitrous...no problem.

LOL.

THE stock cam is pretty damned decent, I ran it for some time with my p heads...solid 13 second combo

Only run 1.7 rockers if you keep the stock cam. 1.6 rockers if you go with the aftermarket cam.

I have built a ported E7 combo with the stock cam, once. If the motors apart or doing H/I go with an aftermarket, you wish you did later.

Depends on the cam. Some aftermarket cams are designed to work with 1.7 ratio rockers.

I've also run the P heads with the stock cam for a few thousand miles, with no problems.
