I picked up a set of these heads pretty cheap and was just wondering if they are worth the time to put them on. I already have the explorer intake and 70 mm tb and egr spacer. I have heard that the bbk headers can be used when putting these heads on. Those i have and know that at least number seven will be hard. Looking for some more opinions. What type of horsepower gains can I expect to see from them if any. Any input apreciated. thanks

i have heard otherwise on the bbk fitting the gt40p heads but not 100% sure. i think you should google gt40p corral.net and do the reading. research will help with your decision =)

It was reported there are Mustang into the 11's with those GT40 heads and intake.

Lot of tuning behind it.

its worth it if u get them for a good deal. i payed $300 for gt40p heads, and a gt40 upper/lower intake, and i think that was a good deal, since most gt40 heads go for about 300 bux..u will notice a gain, u can make around 300hp with the right setup..

If the heads are good...slap em on. Make sure you upgrade the springs first. Crane and trick flow both make kits that will work.

Thanks for the help. On allfordmustangs there is a guy with a similar set up. number 7 was hard for him. but they are the same headers as mine. just ceramic coated, I traded an AOD for the heads. going to have them decked and cleaned. any ideas on how this will affect my compression. I will put new springs and stuff on them to be sure. And also, what is the biggest cam if any can be used on a speed density car.

t76stang, it sounds like u have done this, if so what kind of power gains did you see. Do you have a cam with your setup and such.
