gt500 brembo's fit over 20" fooses???

i just picked up a set of gt500 brembos but i have 20inch foose nitrous wheels. i was wondering if i have the caliper clearance for these, if not then i have to settle and sell them . i know i should have checked first but i could not pass up the deal.

P.S. if they dont fit i have a set of gt500 brembos for sale, $800. rotors have some surface rust but no heat cycling on them or anything and calipers can use some cleaning but everythign is there, comes with spindles and abs sensors. i would just suggest new pads. they had 650 miles on them, but the guy i bought em from put on the baer 6 piston setup with new spindles and everything.

Depends on the backspacing of the wheels. I looked on the internet for Foose Nitrous wheels and it appears that they will fit but I'm not sure if your wheels come in different backspacing. I got a great deal on a 13" Saleen Front brake kit and it didnt fit with my 20" HPD MSR wheels and had to sell the brake kit. At a loss of course. How much clearance do you have between the caliper and wheel stock?

theres some room between stock brake sand teh wheels, but not much, now i know that some kits have minimal clearance but as long as they dont hit im fine. i know foose puts the baer 14inch kit with these wheels, but they use a 2piston caliper. i was just lookign to see if anyone with a shelby has put on the foose wheels.

Most sites like Brembo allow you to download a template of the brakes which you glue onto a piece of card and you can try inside your wheels. Anything with a dish has trouble accommodating the extra brake pistons.

Only take advice from someone who has experience fitting 20" Foose Nitrous wheels on the GT500 Brembo brakes. Or, you're second and only option is to use a template as others have suggested.

Knowing your wheel offset, diameter, width, and backspacing DO NOT guarantee wheel fitment. You can have a rim that meets all the specifications of the stock GT500 rim, and still have a rim that doesn't fit. The spokes of your rims are a major factor as to whether a rim will clear the calipers or not, and there is no standard way to measure spokes because of the unique shape and size that each rim has.

Man this is a huge bummer. I really want the FR500 wheels for my car but they won't clear big brake kits I may have to go GT500 now.

well heres an update for anyone wanting to know, i tried to fit them over my rear wheel(have an extra one so it was off the car, dont ask) and the caliper hit the spoke, now i know its a different offset from the front but the spokes are the same, ill give a definate answer when i take off teh wheels for the winter and try the brakes under the front wheels. but looks like i may have a set of gt500 brakes for sale.

You can purchase a spacer if you really want the brakes. There's no compelling reason not to.

question, or 2,
number one would i need longer studs if i bought spacers? and 2, is it safe for use on the front of the car.? i have used spacerrs on the rear wheels before, but they obviously dont turn and see forces that front wheels face.

Stress could be a factor I'd think for wheel bearing life but I'm not an engineer so I can't be 100% positive.

There, however, are some wheel spacers that come with studs and lugnuts of their own so all you have to do is bolt them on your stock studs and then bolt the wheel over those. The downside is that those spaces are usually relatively thick so unless you're running some kind of heavy staggered setup, or spacers in the rear as well, your front wheels might stick out more which looks rather goofy.

When I first got my GT500 I really wanted a set of the Foose Nitrous wheels. They look real sharp. But I couldn't get anyone to confirm or deny that they would fit. I even contacted Foose directly to see if they would fit, or if they could make some custom ones, but I never heard from them. Its actually been hard to find wheels with spokes that will clear the calipers....well, ones that I like anyways.

I don't know how they compare as far as performance, but I prefer the looks of the Brembos over the Baer brakes. Hope you can make them work.

im pretty sure the brembos perform better then the baers being that they are a 4 piston design on a fixed mounted caliper, but it looks like i may have to sell the brembos. wheel spacers arent really going to be an option for me.. besides the fooses sit pretty flush with the fenders so any more would look stupid. well, baers i guess it is down the road, or if someone will buy these off of me....
