I really like the looks of the gt500 hood. I have looked through the past posts regarding the conversion but I wasnt able to locate anything regarding a gt500kr hood. I know theres a limited number of these vehicles being built but I wanted to know if anyone could shed some light on where I could get a gt500kr hood? This is something I really would like to do and any help would be fantastic.

Let me know what you guys think and if anyone has bought anything from them before.

I'd like to have the twist and turn hood pins used on the KR. Anyone seen those anywhere?

When I was at Mustangweek in Myrtle Beach 2 weeks ago, I saw a faux KR with the hood and what looked like the turn hood pins. I have no idea where he got them, but he found them so they're out there.

I was told Ford will not make the pins available to anyone who does not have a KR.

I wouldn't buy anything made out of fiberglass or carbon fiber.

I had a CF hood made by Seibon (excellent brand/quality) on my 240 and unfortunately any small rock or object on the freeway flung at you would destroy the gelcoat and put unsightly cracks on your hood (same deal for fiberglass).

They are just way too brittle, that's only good for cheap drift bodykits that will get destroyed by bad driving or showcars that never see the freeway unless they're on a trailer.

Check out Cervinis they offer two types that are very close to the KR. One with the Billet louvers at the back and one with out. As for wear and tear on the road I have had a few fiberglass hoods and have never had a problem with them cracking from stone chips. In fact I got rid of my stock Mustang aluminum one because it was denting and wearing worse than my previous hoods. I guess it likely depends on quality but my Cervinis hood has been excellent.

I have owned and seen hoods by Trufiber and to me they were top notch. Cervini is also a very good company. I've never heard anything negative about either company?

Trufiber makes nice hoods, I have their GT500KR hood and love it and this car gets driven daily.

I also have a procharger on the car, would the cold air box need to be shaved down? I looks like there is little clearance with the stock hood now.
