That totally doesn't sound like a .22. Guess i've never heard a .22 without muffs on though, with them on it sounds like a pea shooter.

+1 on the 1911, don't get a cheap one if you are going to get one. I've got a Springfield TRP 1911 and it works pretty well

I'm sitting on the crapper right now, and I still think that I would go with whatever price turns me towards. My friend, the owner of the gun, has a few. Just recently I've started wearing muffs. The day we shot the 300 MAG made me want them.

I'm not looking for something all mighty, just something that will shoot, and get it from someone that I don't have to register it.

Uhh yeah.. Muffs are pretty important.

Even a wussy .22 is like 120 db. Next to my M1A socom with the crazy muzzle brake it's probably 150-160 db.

Typically with guns though you get what you pay for. Not always, but usually. Glocks are pretty cheap and they are good quality and work very well. Not the best trigger pull or ergonomics in the world though.

I know nothing about guns, but I do know that the man himself shot a Walther PPK.

My personal sidearm is a Sig Pro 2340 in 40S&W w/ Federal 135gr HydraShock Selfdefensse rounds. Its nice living in Az, open carry here. 1911's are also a wonderful gun if your willing to shell out the 1000$+ for a good one like Kimber,Wilson Combat.
