Sorry if in wrong forum. :) There is a guy at my shop that has a 1996 Mustang Cobra convertible. It has less than 10,000 miles on it. Anyways he wants my 94 cobra, and tells me today he will trade me even up. My cobra has 113,000 on the clock. Not that that makes that big of difference concidering I have the 5,000 mile 351 in there. I am really torn on what to do. I have put a lot of time and money in my car, but a vert with that low of miles is tough to let get by. Anyone know much about the 96 cobra? Do you think this would be worth the trade? I believe that if I ever had to sell my car, I would get more out of the 96 vert.

Hey keep your 94 cobra for sure man, I dont think you will be as happy in the end if you get the 4v, the only way I would consider it is if he offers you more money on top of the car. The 94-95 are going to be hard to come by later on. Thats just my .02 though.

ok for the obvious reason speed id take your car, but if you were ever going to sell the car id take the 96 because there isnt any miles on it hardly and its a vert, also is his 5-speed or auto? if his is auto tell him to keep his pile lol jk but yea thats what i would do

Thanks for the replies everyone! Yes the 96 is a 5-stick. LOL @ GTPhreak. :) Well I am going to tell him he would have to sweetin the pot a bit. I was really concidering the trade till I went and opened my garage door. Will probably keep the car I have. BTW is anyone from NE Ohio? They are having the Steel Valley National's this weekend in Canfield. Used to be the Hot Rod Super nat's. Then up at Quaker City Drag Way they are going to have flashlight drags. should be a great weekend.

Low miles don't mean much unless you keep the miles off of it, and want to sell it later....if you are keeping the car and you drive alot - you won't have a low mile car after a year or two.
I'm in the minority on this one, but if you can get some cash...take the trade, buy a blower, and keep the miles low!
(biased vert owner's opinion, and yeah, mines a garage queen) :D

cobras dont come with auto's...5speed only until 03 then 6 speed...and i doubt the guy would have swapped in an auto

OK from aguy who has had both cars let me tell you something. I had a96 cobra about 4 or 5 years ago the best damncar I have evcer owned, First on the high way you looking to get upwords of 20+mpg thats pretty good seeing as gas is rising and that 351 gerts about 12mpg. The car is very limited much more then any 94-95 on top of that its a vert so that makes it even mor special. Also at production date until the new 03 cobra that was the fastest produced mustang aside from one off 428 cobrajets ever made. Can you say IRS the thing has a smooth ride and I dont care what anyone sayse that rear end is just as stout as any 8.8 or 9 inch. I no longer have my cobra becasue like a nimrod I was street racing and was ran right off the road into a tree. Worst day of my life. Currently I have a 95 and no I don't have a 351 but I do have alot on it almost everything but heads and blower. Great car love it but I would take my cobra back any day over it. Good gas mileage, Great ride, Awsome power and it is MUCH RARER then any hoped up 94-95 except maybe the saleen 351R. Drive the care and don't just think about the pure power ratio butthink anout the fact that in 20 years it the equivelant of trading a 67 fast back for a 351 boss if you were back in the 70's in the long run you will come out on top. Sorry for it being so long but I have seen the view from both sides of the river. Also if you want more power the 4v loves blowers and makes sick power with the right set up. just think about it
