Guys,
I've got 4 piston Cobra R (Brembo) brakes, and I'm looking for new wheels. I want a set of deepdish rims, like the deepdish bullits. I'm wondering if the 17X9's up front will clear the Brembo's? I had some 17X8's and they didn't come close to clearing....

Thx

Don't know about deep dish. I have a set of FRPP 17X9 Cobra Rs, and they BARLEY clear. I also have a set of cheap Cobra R replicas in the same size I use to store the car, but they don't fit. The spokes actually rub, so I have to get a set of spaces to put them on.

The calipers are great, and you will notice a large stopping difference, but you have to be careful when buying wheels in the 17X9 size. I know Saleens, Ford Cobra Rs, and Roush fit, but I am not sure of any others. Hopefully someone has experience with Bullits and those calipers. Good luck.

I don't know, my stock bullits JUST BARELY clear the stock bullit brake calipers. Can't even fit my pinky finger between the caliper and the wheel. I would think the deep dish ones wouldn't clear:shrug:

My plans to go with the 13" Brembo 4-piston Cobra R brakes definitely affected my wheel decision.

Here are the dimensions you need to fit from MaximumMotorsports webside:

They list: 95 Cobra R, 98 Cobra, and Konig Villians as wheels that fit.

Steeda wheels are also supposed to fit, and I would think some of the Ford Racing wheels like the FR500 would work as well.

Sadly, not Bullits.

So it requires a rim with at least +50MM backspacing..?

I'm looking at a set of Deepdish 95 Cobra R's on ebay, 17X9 up front, so I was trying to get an idea if they'd fit up or not. They're replicas, not ford, which is why I'm trying to figure out before I throw down the $$ for them. The Steeda wheels DO fit over the Brembo's, I have a set of Ultralites (and 2000 Cobra R's) but I want some deepdish wheels.

I was surprised the 98 Cobra wheels fit, as I believe they were 17X8?

Thanks guys

Edit: Just noticed the first reply, the guy said the replica Cobra R's rub... I could put thin spacers, but since I plan to run them ontrack, that wouldn't be so great.. :(

I am not saying all replicas rub. I just bought a set of no name cheap wheels to store the car. They were the cheapest I could find at the time. I just was pointing out that my generics rub. As long as you get the correct back spacing as shown, you will be just fine.

Yeah, I understand. The ones I was looking at were cheeeap too though, haha. I'll check with them on backspacing.

Thanks :nice:
