guys with crane 1.6 rr's

i have a set of crane 1.6's on a set of fresh e7's. the heads are off the block because i'm in the middle of rebuilding. well i repainted my stock valve covers and set them on my heads to see what they'd look like and they won't seat all the way. i know the gasket will help raise them a little but i'm still not sure if the rocker arms are going to clear them. Is there anyone on here with crane 1.6's and stock valve covers? did you have any clearance issues? and is it okay to just grind out the baffle? thanks!

Yes, you need to modify the baffle, I did.

do i just take that metal plate piece off on the one with the breather cap and grind down on the fins on both?

Crane Roller Rockers

I have Crane 1.6 roller rockers on my 347. I had to go to a taller valve cover. They are available everywhere. I got a great set on E-bay for around $40.00. They do not have any emblems on them. You may get away with removing any baffle on the inside of the covers that you have now. It would be a small plate that locates immediately below the valve cover vent. However, if you do that you may get a little oil drip if you are using an open air breather. Good luck.
