Guys with longtubes and T56

Well had alittle time to take a look under the stang, for the Viper T56 change.
I am in the process of building a 408.
But right now I would like to install the tranny to the 302.
I have longtube headers.
I just want to drop the old T5 out and swap the new one. BUT
Without removing the engine or headers.
Has anyone done this???

you probably wont have room to do it without taking off the headers. if you do sqeeze it by it will be close. however i am not sure but i think the t-56 has a wider bellhousing but i could be wrong. i went from an aod to t-56
