The Head/Cam/Intake swap is finally done.. It took about 5 days, but would have been less if I didn't have to wait for an intake spacer.. I didn't have to many problems during the whole project, just some minor set backs.. I took pics through out the whole process.. I dont have pics of the whole thing completed yet because I still need to clean it up alittle, and some of the plug wires dont match because some of them caught on fire..

It runs really strong right now, and I'm very impressed with its power.. The idle isnt bad.. It dies sometimes, but nothing a good tune wont fix.. I'm going to be going to the track this friday to test it out, and I'll post up my times when i get them

lol so do i.. thats actually not my garage.. i dont even have a garage.. i usually do all of my work in the driveway, but this job was just to big to for that, so i drove to his house in harrisburg and we did all of the work there

it runs pretty good.. the only problem with it so far is sometimes it surges a few hundred rmps, and sometimes it dies at idle.. when it gets into its powerband though it takes off.. right around 4k it starts pulling REALLY hard, and goes all the way to 6k.. i cant wait to get it down the 1/4 mile

the whole thing wasn't to bad.. this was the first time i had ever done a project as big as this and i didnt think it was all that bad.. i had to go and talk to a few local guys for somethings that i was to sure about, but other than that it all seemed fairly simple, just time consuming.. and when you do go to start a project like this make sure you lable EVERYTHING.. i made the mistake of not doing this, and i was up until 730 in the moring one day trying to figure out how the whole front assembly went back together.. after working for 22 hours strait i was so delerious and frustrated that i couldnt do anything.. those are the times that you need to just walk away and clear your head.. ive found that when you get like this your just going to make mistakes and have to go back and do it again.. i would just say read about it alot before you start, and when you start taking things off make sure you know how they came off so that you can put them back on the same way

theyre regular performers with 1.9's.. i couldnt afford to spend any more money on this project so i had to keep it as inexpensive as possible

Yeah 5.0Ls are easy for head swaps. I once did a swap of my AFR 165s over to my buddies car, and his GT40Xs over to mine in one day. I lived, only to do it again the next weekend.

Now my LS1 is making me a bit nervous when I contemplate a head swap.

how do you like your typhoon intake, i bought one and love it so far only I went with trick flow stg1 cam and powerheads and man it pulls pretty sweet at about 4k, and hey does your car hate it when it's warmed up, you go into a store then come back and start it and it wants to surge itself untill it's driven about a block. what do yo have your fuel pressure set at?

BGjohnson, dont mean to steal the thread but how is ur car on power and tourqe before 4k? Is it like decent or almost annoying that there isnt enough? I was thinking about that cam for one of my many combos that i dream up when im bored in school lol
