H/C/I questions...

Ya I'm a newb so work with me here haha. I'm thinkin about gettin http://store.summitracing.com/default.asp?target=partdetail.asp&part=TFS%2DK514%2D350%2D370&N=400098+4294908331+4294840126&autoview=sku and was thinkin I'm gonna need new injectors and a MAF. What about a TB? Any recommendations for these parts? One last thing, I won't need to make any other mods to the engine to get this kit to work, right?(no notched pistons, etc..)

*EDIT* I know I need the throttle body adapter or convert to fox setup:bang:

From what I have heard that is a good kit and from what i can tell thats a damn good price. I have a 95 cobra with all stock internals. I personally went with the AFR 165cc heads and called comp cams and they set me up with a custom grind. I got the heads for about 1200 and the cam for 240. I didnt get an intake manifold cause the cobra is already decent and I will eventually have that ported out. With the items on my car and stock injectors I put 300rwhp and 330tq untuned and 330 350 with a custom sct chip. You will definately wanna get tuned to solve driveability issues if nothing else so keep that in mind. The tune and chip cost me close to 600 but was worth every penny. Everyone has there own opinions ond H/C/I setups but they all are pretty decent. Depends on what you want to do. I love my setup and would suggest it to anyone!

I just did this last week...you will probably need a fuel pump, 24 lb inj, maf, 70 mm b(no absolute nessec), intake adapter elbow....3/8 spacer, and you will have to modify or delete your egr because the tube will not reach. you need the spacer because the egr will hit the valve covers if the upper intake is not raised.

I say save the cash and go with the Fox TB setup. Much better looking and it has its advantages too. I hear a lot less of the "idle issues" with guys that have the fox stuff compared to guys with stock style setups using IAC bypass parts and stuff like that.

What did you do to get the EGR hooked up right? What fuel pump would you recommend and what brand MAF and injectors are the best? This is the info I was lookin for, thanks

Whoa 95SVTCobra! Those are some nice numbers.

Are those typical for a HCI 5.0?

I thought everyone was arounf 300RWHP/TQ with HCIs. How'd you manage so well?

I wouldnt say typical but i would also say its not out of the question. He didnt use any "rare" parts....just a good combo that performs. GTJake that used to be around here alot made the same power. You can get more than 300rwhp in 5.0s with just h/c/i...just takes a little extra planning and designing to get it. Also, its usually not something that you put together and go out and get those numbers. Its something that takes time and practice...but most of all is patience.

And another thing...im not sure if u're looking for dyno numbers or for speed. But Killercanary for example, ran low 12's(a high 11 was expected on his last run when he broke the motor) and "only" made just about 300rwhp...if that. So thats not saying this guy above cant do it. He will some day just like killer didnt at first. I guess what im saying is that your wants will affect what u actually "need". Just remember its all about a package...from bumper to bumper that makes your car perform.

Think, think think think a million times. Do it once. (although that rarely happendsin reality:rlaugh: )
