H/C/I swap soon, what gasket set?(couple other ?'s)

Hey guys, I just about have all the pieces now for my swap but don't have a gasket set yet. I am using ported e7's and a cobra intake, so what gasket set would you recommend me using? Is there a set that gives every gasket I would need? I never really looked into it much at all. Please let me know what brand and part number you have used and whether you liked it or not.

Also, if my lift is going to be .544" should my valve springs be able to handle a certain amount more than that? I heard somewhere that your valve springs should be able to handle about .050" more than what you are going to use. I don't know exactly what my springs can handle, but the machine shop I am going to take them to said they could check that when I get the valve job. They are dual springs with damper, so I assume they can handle enough, but I want to be sure.

Oh yeah, I haven't torn the motor apart yet, but I imagine there will be some carbon build up on the pistons. What could I use to remove that? Should I just leave them alone, or should I get rid of the build up?

I have been planning some similar work for my car this winter, and although I havent used them (yet), the Ford Racing master gasket set looks like a pretty solid buy. It advertises race quality head gaskets, Fel-pro print-o-seal intake gaskets, and front and rear oil seals (along with all other gaskets) for $90 from Jegs or PAW. Anyone here used this set before?

i wanted to do the same thing for my rebuild, but then i looked at the quality of the "important" gaskets in the kit, such as the heads and intake, and they are made of the same stuff as all the other gaskets in the kit. If you are putting aftermarket parts on such as new thumper heads, they are obviously going to increase hp over stock heads, which means more pressure on the gaskets. If i were u i would buy a regular rebuild kit from ford or fel-pro and then buy special gaskets for ur heads and intake ect, that have copper or steel in them. Do another post about which head gasket everyone uses and which is the best, and buy that as well. dont use the one that comes with the kit.
