h pipe or pro chamber??

the 96 cobra i just got has an o/r x with flows and it is way too raspy. i want to either put an h or a prochamber but i still want a little rasp. so which one would be better to go with??

We had a prochamber on our 98GT and loved it. After we did the PI motor swap it no longer fit correctly, so we got an H pipe. The H was so much louder, almost abnoxiously loud. I still have the prochamber in my shed.....

like what kind of sound did the pro chamber have?? was it a throaty sound or more of a raspy sound??

I've had both on my 2004 GT. The H was more raspy than the Prochamber. The Prochamber has a deeper rumble that smooths out at around 1800-2000 RPM. The H is a little louder and smooths out around 2200 RPM. I stuck with the Prochamber.

My prochamber has zero rasp. If a little rasp is what you want, the h pipe will get you there without being super raspy like an X.

I am running the prochamber right now and love it. I went from a custom h with 2 cats, and the prochamber isn't raspy or loud even. Nice "smooth" sound.

thanks for the help guys. i think ill just stick with the h cuz i like a little rasp but an o/r x is WAY too much.

i just sold my prochamber acouple days ago. it was the best sounding midpipe i ever had. Just to quiet. i ahve an o/r h now but going to an o/r x for more of a raspy sound with my mac dumps

dude the o/r x is gonna be REALLY raspy. if thats what you want then go for it but i would at least get a catted x. but hey its all in opinion

Agree, the magnalfow catted X sounds great but I know I wouldn't run an O/R X.
