h pipe question

a mechanic mentioned if i did this mod. it will really improve the performance of my 86gt, he claims my cats are probblly pluged up after 160,000 miles, i did my last emissions test , so no more cats . what do you guys think?

When I had my factory h-pipe a long time ago, I got a steel rod, sharpened one end like a standard screwdriver, and used it with a hammer to break out all of the material from inside the cats. Nice sound, and no more plugged H-Pipe, and, best of all, free.

summit racing has them for 180 dollars, i might try it, my flow master mufflers are about shot too.

iirc i paid like $140 for an o/r h from pacesetter. bought it off summit, it was a pretty nice piece

If you buy a cheap piece of crap, it will fit like a cheap piece of crap, just keep that in mind.

Bassani offroad 3 piece.
Because of the way it's designed, it pretty much fits regardless of how messed up the rest of the exhaust is.
