H&R vs. Eibach

c/c plates are for the front. You do not NEED new shocks and struts, however, it is highly recomended. Pro-kit can get away without shocks and struts, but if you are going to go with the sportline, the stock shocks and struts will not last that long. If you guys are on the market, check out www.kmodifiedracing.com they have really good prices on the eibach and H&R springs.

Well I think that H&R Super Sports look the best by far and I also think that it sounds like they are also some of the better quality springs out there. It's only like .25 more inches than Pro-Kit! So it's totally up to you don't let other people sway your opinion on what you want. Eibach makes great springs! It's your car and you should do what you want!

what about steeda  I know this is vs two other company's, but steeda are really good too right?

I've heard other people talk about Steeda and they say it doesn't drop your car all that much. But they are supposed to really good quality and all. So it depends on what look you are going for.

well i dont own a stang YET... but i haev dealt with eibach and h&r on other cars. my current setup is eibach sportline on tokico shocks for my civic. the handling and comfort of my car is great. it handles very good and its way more comfortable than most lowered cars. but i have had problems with the springs and shocks not being stiff enough on real sharp turns with 2 people in the car my wheels rub.... the car is not even dropped that terribly far. i talked to numerous people and from what i was told and am experiencing, tockico shocks tend to loose pressure and they arent as stiff after awhile... ive also heard the eibachs tend to sag. i am having a problem with that now so i would agree, but my problem is the shocks. i dont know how great the newer tockico's are or if the stang ones are different but i would avoid those. my springs are still ok and i like them, although if i was to go through i would get a tiens setup(dunno if they make springs for stangs) but i road in a buddies car with them and they had a great drop road nice and handled like NO OTHER. another thing that helps alot with suspension is sway and strut bars. they helped reduce some rubbing when i added those to my cars and my friend has gotten a newer gt and he put those on and his car handles much better. just my .02

I went with the H&R Supersports. Installed them last week with a friend. I was really impressed with the drop. I did my research on here as well, and looked at alot of different pics and the H&R drop looked the best IMO. I'm still using the stock shocks/struts and it rides fine. I'm eventually going to get some aftermarket shock/struts but I couldnt keep the stock look anylonger, heh.

One thing I did notice while installing the H&R Springs were that the front springs didnt just slide in. Most how-to guides said they would, but mine didnt, so I had to break out my ghetto spring compressor - one of those ratchet style tie straps. It wasnt that big of an issue though. Just an extra 10 min per spring.

Are you saying that H&R springs are taller than stock spring?

When I re-install my stock front springs.. I could just wedge it in with 3 feet breaker bar.. still pretty tough though

The H&R Springs werent taller than the stock ones - I'd say about 1-2" shorter, but I had to pry the stock ones out pretty hard before I installed the H&R's. Your breaker bar might work ok. I tried to use a 3 feet long iron rod (1/2" diameter) and that didnt work. But, everyone has their own tricks for doing spring installs so it might work for you.

Want to lower my ride! It sounds like h&r might have my vote for springs. I just was wonderin about installing the springs. Is it pretty easy? Any special tools? I thought you have to get it aligned afterwards, so should i just run it to my local shop?

I do not have the H&R's but the install is not that bad, took me about 1.5 hours.... Alignment, yeah you should do one but I would run the car for about a week or 2 so let the new springs settle before you throw your $$$ at the alignment shop

Howbar Motorsports has the absolute lowest price on H&R Supersports. $189.99 + shipping (51652.77), slightly more for convertables, $194.35 + shipping (51658.77). These guys are great to do business with.

If you need a spring compressor to get these in, then you didn't lower your A arm all the way.

I also have urethane isolators so my drop is a little less then normal by about 1/4".
