Does any one have Halibrand Cobra III wheels. I like them they are a classic look like what is on Eleanor . I am thinking about getting them in crome. I would like to see pics of them on a real car. All I have seen is the little wheel selector thing that discount tire does on their website. I am looking for somehting alittle different for the regular Cobra Rs that a lot fo people have

these are better, check them out! http://www.mach1review.com/products_wheels_halibrand.html

much more depth, and less weight.

Those are beautiful, but, and no offense, they gotta be on crack if they think they will sell those at $1775 a set! You can get true Halibrand brand "deep lip" 17X9 and 17X10.5 for $740 from www.dicounttiredirect.com (with free shipping!)
I've been shopping for these rims myself...and I love the pic in MM&FF on the silver Stang, but I also saw them in another thread...and I'm not so sure anymore...just not as muscular looking as the ad in the mag. (though I think the pic in this thread has 17X9 all around, and without the 'deep lip' in the front.) See the "Pics of your Stangs..." thread. This is Wikkdgt's ride.

well here's the problem guys...you see that cobra up there? The rims they sell on discount tire direct will not clear the front the brakes. That is why the rear is deep dish and the front is not. The reason is the backspacing is incorrect.

If you own a GT you will clear the front deep dish just fine, but if you ever want to upgrade to cobra brakes or better, the rims will not clear.

The link I posted up there does have deep dish fronts that clear the front brakes on Machs and cobras...or any big brake kit for that matter.

You are correct though, a little pricey, but good quality and an awesome look.

I think it looks better with the deep dish in front & back for these rims (from Discount Tire).
These pics from here

The last pics posted are the best but the ones on the red cobra are terribly ugly.

Agreed - that was my opinion, exactly! The fronts almost look like wheel covers from Walmart.

I'm in the same boat, looking for new rims and tires...decisions, decisions. Looking at www.groupawheels.com now...ROH RT rims. What I REALLY want to do is Weld Prostars big and littles, but, as a daily driver, the skinnies up front scare me a bit.
