I was parking my car I pulled my hand ebreak I herd a pop sound my hand still moves when I push the button but there's no slack and my break are stuck engaged how can I release the e break till I can get it replaced I have a 89 5.0 lx mustang

Simple first step - pull up on the ebrake handle while pressing the release button. When you feel it release, continue to hold pressure on the button and let the handle down slowly.

If that didn't work, get out your tools...
1.) Remove the center armrest - 4 bolts hidden under the oval plastic covers.
2.) Remove the center console - 2 screws in front, 2 at the back.
3.) Disconnect the wiring connector for the ashtray light & cigarette lighter.
4.) Move the center console up and out of the way. You may have some small problems getting the Ebrake boot over the Ebrake handle.
5.) Pull up on the Ebrake handle and use a screwdriver to pry the ratchet pawl out of contact with the ratchet teeth on the Ebrake handle. Let the Ebrake handle down slowly without removing the screwdriver you used to pry the ratchet pawl away from the ratchet teeth.

6.) Fix what you need to fix and then reassemble.

Please stop yelling.

There is some troubleshooting that you're going to have to perform in order to get to the bottom of this. To do this, you will need to disassemble a few things so that you can see what is actually going on. It's going to be a bit of process regardless of what the problem is. You're going to have to start eliminating possibilities.

In your case, the problem may lie between the brake handle and the e-brakes and/or at the brake components in the rear (requires removal of wheels, tires, and drum).

Time to start getting dirty.

Did you ever think it might be the broken cable riding on the driveshaft?

One way or the other, you will need to get the car up on jackstands, crawl under and see what is happening. If you don't have jackstands and a suitable jack, you need to get them. There will be a next time when you will need them....
