Hey all - let this be the first of what's sure to be an interminable number of
S197 upgrade questions.

Does anyone make a leather handbrake lever that replaces the rubber-ish one? Can just the grip be replaced, or do you have to pull out the whole handle?

Second, I think I have seen leather-covered replacement center armrests - does anyone have a recommendation for quality and fit?

Thanks,

Robert

Yes, Ford equips the GT500 with them.

I dont have the part number but you can get them from the dealership/parts desk

I know you are asking for leather, but at least for the handbrake, they make some great looking satin aluminum ones from various aftermarket companies. While I don't have it yet, it goes great with the satin aluminum shifter knob and bezel in the upgraded interior if you have it.

i had a local shop custom do the shifter boot and console lid for me. they added some padding to the console lid, so its much more comforable now. i know the owner, so i got a great deal. even so, he said retail would be pretty affordable. (i am not posting a price )

Looks good, Cat. Maybe I will talk to a local upholstery shop. I'm not sure about the satin aluminum overlays that I have seen; I do have the interior upgrade so there's plenty of shiny bits in the interior already, and I like the look and feel of the leather.

It would probably be easier to have a shop stitch up a handbrake grip turn-key than to monkey with pulling out the handbrake assembly for the GT500 swap. I'm a little leery of pulling it out.

The premier interior package also features a leather covered console lid. Ask Ford for a price. Your dealer should be willing to sell it to you at a discount price.
There are various companies out there also offering a leather cover.
I would also like to see a leather covered emergency brake handle instead of the billet.
