I got some new sensors (map, act, ect). Now when i am rolling to stop i have an idle around 1800 rpm. when i get to complete stop it will drop down to about 1100 rpms. Anyone ever experience this and if so did you cure it? Did not do it before i changed the sensors.

Clean the throttle body & the Idle air Bypass (IAB) with throttle body cleaner. Squirt WD 40 on the throttle linkage.

If that doesn't fix it, make another post & someone (maybe Tmoss) will post the idle & TPS settting proceedure .

seting idle
Is yours a mass air car?
If so:
1) Disconnect the battery (and the IAB valve) for 20 minutes.
2) Reconnect the battery (but not the IAB valve), start the engine and adjust the idle.
3) wait 2 minutes, connect the IAB valve, turn off all accessories, start the engine, let it idle for two minutes.
4) Shut off engine for two minutes.
5) Turn on all accessories, start the engine, let idlefor two minutes.
I don't know if this works for Speed Density cars.... Not sure but I don't think so!

Some say this works too:
Make sure the engine is fully warm. Disconnect IAB motor while the car is running. Set the rpm where you want it. Turn the car off, reconnect the IAB and start the car. Your done. I never had to do a relearn procedure anytime i adjusted fords minimum air flow.

Set TPS voltage to .98v (w/throttle closed)

yes my car is mass air. i know how and already did set the idle and cleaned everything. I am out of things to try.

Does it literally hang at 1500 or so while you're coasting to a stop and will hang there longer if you coast slower until finally tapping the brakes? If so, it sure sounds like the IAC circuit that is staying active until the VSS shows that you're stopped. I struggled with this on my Duratec Sable until I found that cleaning the **** out of the TB and IAC valve fixed it. Might want to take a closer look there. Good luck!

Hanging idle till vehicle stops

I read in a post somewhere that Ford programs the hanging idle into the computer to aid in downshifting. I don't know if it's true, or not, but mine hangs also until the vehicel comes to a stop. I don't remember if it did it before I started the mods or not!

Be thankful you don't have my idle problem. After running a bit, over half the time it will hang at 1500 and will fluctuate a bit, sporadically jump after being at a dead stand still to 1500, and will stay at 1500 when driving even though I may be doing 1100 in 5th gear, as soon as I push in the clutch it'll jump back up. I have found two ways to fix it, cut the car off and start it back up and it'll idle at the normal 700-900 rpm, or disconnect the IAC and it backs down to correct idle speed. Weird, but I think it's the motor in the IAC that is worn out and just doesn't operate as well anymore. I'll solve it one day.

Maybe yours is the same deal almost and is related to the IAC being overly worn maybe? Although, don't rule out the TPS either yet.
