Hi guys i'm new here. I have a 96 cobra and whenever i have the air conditioning on my rpms just sort of hang when i push in the clutch and drop REAL slow. Anyone know what this could be and/or how to fix it  ?? Thanks a lot.

Do the copper cap mod. Go to ace hardware or some place like that and get a 1/2 inch copper cap. Go home and drill a hole in it about 1/4 of an inch, right in the middle of it. Then put it in the hose right between the little black box and the intake. If you have any problems you can just search copper cap mod on here and alot will show up.

Phew, what are you talking about? We used to have a phrase for this kind of stuff before "sensitivity training". Are you related to MaGuyver? Remember that show? lol

If you RPMS are hanging with the AC on more than normal, you have a problem with the IAC most likely or the base idle setting. Try cleaning it or replacing it. Also, any intake mods you have may be causing this too, such as CAI/ TB, or certainly a MAF. You base idle may be set too low too.

First try cleaning the IAC. If that does not work, remove the wire harness from the IAC and start the car. If it dies after you have cleaned the IAC, then the base isle is set too low. As a result, the car is struggling a little and the car is increasing your rpms to compensate. Then adjust your idle screw a tad and try again.
