Engine Hard start once engine is hot?

Update:

The Deka battery that was in the car checked out good. But it only has 580 cca.

I ended up buying a optima red top battery that has 800 cca. The car definitely cranks faster. The starter doesn't seem slow either.

I ran the car up to operating temp. Then shut the car off and restarted it about 3-4 times. It started right up.

We shall see, hopefully that was the issue. I'll have more time to drive it this weekend.

Those clamp terminals are subject to corrosion. If you are going to put a battery in the trunk, out of sight and out of mind, I suggest absorbent glass mat (AGM), which can be mounted in any position, which you may have in that Optima, and studs with soldered terminals.

I have two such batteries in the trunk of my 65. See link at bottom.

Thanks for the information. So far the optima battery is holding up. I'll eventually put lugs on the cables with different terminal's.
