Hard starting 02 GT?

My 02 GT (high mileage, 78k) is having a hard time starting lately. I talked to some other Ford owners lately and said this is a common Ford thing.

When I turn the key, sometimes it fires up immediately, sometimes it takes a couple seconds to start the motor.

Any thoughts?

Check your fuel pressure. I work at a Ford dealer and I have been replacing a lot of fuel pumps latley for your type of concern.

check the MAF too. It can cause all sorts of goofy problems

Mine's been having the same problem ever since the beginning. It doesn't happen too often, but seems to "choke" more often when warm (like starting the car after driving it shortly before).

Sometimes mine just wont turnover on the first attempt. Has always done it too.
