Hey everyone. I've got some serious problems. I've got a 95 GT and it's SUPER hard to start anymore. Takes a good 5-10 seconds on the starter just to get it to barely idle, then it will actually run. When it is running, it lacks power, pops and hesitates when you try to give it gas and the mileage blows. So far, I have replaced the cap and rotor, the spark plugs, the fuel filter, the fuel pressure regulator and slaved in a new coil. None of this fixed the problem. I pulled codes tonight (after slaving in the coil) and got the following: 113, 157, 172, 176, 181, 189, 556...does anyone at all have ANY idea what the problem could be? Any and all help would be great.

Have you checked the MAF signal or swapped in a spare MAF?

Just to be sure, check the engine bay and I/P fuses. What happens if the throttle is held half way open during cranking? Does this improve starting? If so, suspect IAC problem.

Hissin is on the right track, check your MAF. That's code 157; the other codes could be side effects of a bad MAF sensor or wiring. Troubleshoot the MAF first and try to get code 157 cleared first, and see if the others come back.

For future reference, here's a link to OBD1 codes. Our cars only have 3-digit codes.

Apparently my ex-husband made that mistake.

If that doesn't work, try cleaning out your IAC valve.
