you should be using the smaller bolts that go into the balancer. I actually found some bolts around my garage that were nice and short.

ok, heres how it should go down:

-Remove your fan
-Move the overflow tank out of the way of the fan
-Break the crank bolt loose
-Use 2-3 small bolts and screw them into the balancer so they hold the brace in place
-put the huge center bolt in and use the sharp tip on the bolt
-crank away at it until the balancer pops off the key way
-Pop the new one on and get nasty

Make sure the washer for the crank bolt is out too. I forgot to check and wound up breaking the puller. To tighten crank bolt i pulled the starter and put a bolt thru a hole in the flywheel, worked like a charm.

By any chance did you remember to put silcone on the key on the crank to help prevent oil leaks from that area.

Keep an eye on it just in case. I had a oil leak from their once I kept putting it off until my balancer to a dump. After installing the new balancer and putting the silcon my belt is nice and dry and not flinging oil on anything anymore.
