I have a brand new summit harmonic balancer that i installed 6 months ago. I want to pull it off and im using a puller but it feels SO hard to get it to move. I feel like something is gonna break, what can be causing this and should i just keep turning the wrench and force it? I dont want to break sh1t so i cant continue my headswap until i find out whats going on. Please help!

Good advice above. I put neverseize on the inner hub to help with this stuff.

A little heat on the balancer would help, but I dont think I would be trying that myself.

Good luck.

I let it sit overnight with PB. I'm gonna give it another try.

BTW what washer are you talking about? There is one big bolt that i took bolts into the crank and that has a washer, but those both have been removed. Anything else im missing?

Yes, it's the big washer under the crank bolt that needs to come out. But then, you need to put the bolt back in without the washer to serve as the spot for the puller to push on. A stock balancer will pass right over the bolt without the washer on there. If you don't reinstall the bolt, you run the risk of messing up the crank bolt threads in the crankshaft with the puller. Then you will really be in trouble. Be sure to oil up the threads on the puller too, to prevent galling. Otherwise, it just takes some serious wrench turning sometimes.

On your site you made your own puller right? If thats the case on the way back out u need a cone shaped tip that fits into the groove on the crank. I believe the puller u made had a flat tip? If it cannot turn, It will be very difficult to pull the damper off. ie your other one broke in half when u took it off. Hope that helps.
