Its more like 85.50 after shipping, but whatever. That is a decent price for a stock replacement damper, but I've never used Pro Products stuff(like knock-off Edelbrock intakes). I'm really tempted to get an SFI damper.

pbum,

I thought you had a 289? The link shows this one is for 302, 351 - or will that one work for the 289 too?

I like how that one looks.

Yup,

I do have a 289, but that balancer should work with all early Ford SB V8’s according to the description..

Hey check out summit racing this is the balancer that I got I think it is the best bang for your buck balancer out there. Albeit the price has been increased $10 since I bought it, but its still a great deal.

I bought that dampner for my 331 that I am building. I have bought my radiator, dampner, and flexplate from racers outlet. No complaints.

My engine builder said he sees nothing wrong or poor quality with that balancer. We shall see though.

The only problems I see are that it uses an elastomer bonding just like the stock balancer and the counterweight is bolt on ( hope it doesn't work loose). Basically, the only advantage it has over stock is timing marks, right?

Thanks - 69Rcode_Mach1 and allcarfan,
That one from summit looks like a http://www.pro-race.com/ and a good deal..

mustangdave
yup, the timing marks and it is also made from nodular iron are the improvements over stock..

for a little more $145

you can get an SFI one

Is it worth the extra $$ for an SFI balancer for a non-all out race motor?
