So my harmonic balancer just seemed to break off as if rotted and i need a new one. I asked a local engine builder and was having a hard time finding the harmonic balancer for my 72 mustang's 302 because of its depth and it being 4 bolt. so when he did find it, he found it for $140. this seemed a little pricey for something that wasnt aftermarket, just a plain jane one. anyone know where i can find one cheaper? or just go with that one?

That does seem a bit high, but those balancers cost more than you would think they should.

I wouldn`t buy that from ANY mail order parts
There are lots of ways to get the wrong part, Advance Auto had to get me 3 of them before I got the right one. You want to be able to swap it out quickly if you get the wrong one, trust me.
I think I wound up paying about $90 bucks.
