Your gut feeling about the chip is 100%. If it's off-the-shelf, it's garbage. If it's tunable, you have no idea what's on it. It might make the engine rev to the tune of the National Anthem, for all we know. :nono:
ECU Exchange is the plan. As for the chip, guy told me it's just one of JETs cookie cutter tunes for HCI cars. But the part number comes up for 1991. The JET part number for a 1992 is different. Not sure what the major difference would be besides the fuel pump relay location. The 92½ mustang relocated the relay to the engine bay ‍. Just happy to have a clean running Fox.
