Harness dongle hanging from front of new 5.0?

I have a customer's car today and he was wondering what the hanging wire end is for in the front bumper opening. I can put pix up if necessary. Looks like it has a fake sensor clipped into it and its just chillin underneath the grill in the bumper cover opening.

Seen pictures of a temperature sensor looking thing under the bumper on the new 5.0 ... probably the same thing on the car you're looking at, but missing whatever package has a use for ambient air temperature. If I had to guess, comfort package probably adds an external air temperature display somewhere.

Must be it. Its a base model GT. The end of the harness looks like a mock temperature sensor that would screw in to a radiator or something.

It is the air temp. sensor my 5.0 is base model and has external air temp display

I have a 2010 that also has a visible sensor. I assumed it was for the outside temperature monitor.

He wants me to move it out of site. I guess stuffing it up under the bumper cover would return false air temps. I'll have to see what I can do.
