harsh downshift when slowing fast

The only time I experienced hard downshift while slowing was when my TV cable was set too aggressively. It was like I was downshifting a manual trans each gear while coasting down. With an auto typically you can coast from full cruising speed and really not feel a downshift as you approach a stop. This was not the case. I have since backed off on the TV adjustment and it is much better. I have a stock AOD with only a Lentech valve body (stock converter).
