ok i got my car running after sitting for 4 months. first couple days or so it felt STRONG, it would flat run GOOD. then after a while it sort of felt like it lost power.

figured it might have been weather, been in cold days and warm days and it felt the same.

went today and checked the timing, fuel pressure, tightened up new headergaskets that came loose, got them sinched down tight now. set my idle good.

car runs alot smoother than it did and i got on it some and it seems strongers.

i think it may be the SFCs i welded on while the car was parked. and brand new tires. the car is hooking better. the car hooks ALOT better now and doesnt spin much unless i want it too. maybe before with all the spinning may have created an illusion of a faster car.

the car feels the same, sounds the same and runs the same. maybe i am just used to it again, maybe it was just me, i havnt drove or rode in anything really fast since the car was parked so maybe thats it

Yup, stupid vacuum problems and it just bogged itself down. No clue what it ended up being but once we removed a clusterfark of wires, hoses, etc. that consisted of nearly the entire EGR vacuum assortment, it felt like its old self again. I was surprised to say the least.

Yesterday mine did. When I put in 91 instead of 93...it just did not rip em loose like it used to it 2nd with the 225's. There was more crap on the roads back then and it was a little coolder thats the only difference besides running the 91..Today did an oil change/sea foam and it feels better...After this tank with the little bit of sea foam left, I'm only running 93/94 and am going to check the timing/tps voltage..

If you're not getting any detonation with lower octane fuels then your just wasting your money running the premium...there is no power gain from using higher octane, just the ability to run more timing...IF you can.

Th 4 month lay-off might make a difference. After 10 years of never having the car down for more than 2 weeks, my '90 sat for 6 months in '04. During that time I bought my '92. I remember the first day I got it back on the road. It felt like a rocket. lol

Yeah... mine started feeling slower, thought it was just in my head.... then I could't run he same track times, then I started getting pulled by camaro's..... some smoke while running.... 26-50% leakdown... pulled engine.... bought camaro.... it just keeps going downhill... :(

I didnt feel mine get slower, my time slip told me it got slower. I was running a 13.9-14.0 almost every time at the track. Then one weekend i go and cant get anything faster than a 14.8..... im like WTF??? decided to rebuild it, and found the top ring on the #1 piston was broke in half :bang:

You know that all cars are faster in cold weather for the most part... Then when you hit a warm or humid week the car feels slower because it is.

"The cooler the air, the hotter the fire"

My 01 GT will only bark 2nd (automatic) when it's 30 degrees or less outside :rlaugh:

That's my car all the way. Mine has always ran hot...it doesn't overheat but it's always running towards the middle of the temp gauge unless it's winter. I haven't drove mine at all this winter since it's snowed but usually there are some days when it's dry out and i'll take it for a drive. It'a a bitch to get warmed up with a chokeless carb but once it's warmed up it runs like hell.

Two summers ago my car felt like a mid 15 second car, then I brought it to the track and I ran a 14.6, not the greatest but alot faster than I thought it was. I guess you just get used to the power and get bored with it.

Once it was real bad, I even went and checked the sparkplugs to see if anything was up with the engine, I was real confused...

THEN...

I NOTICED I FORGOT THE HANDBRAKE!!! DOH!
